Grange Hall, located in the heart of Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood, was a project born out of collaboration between Atelier 19AD6 and architect Linsey Dunn. The goal was to create a welcoming space that would bring the community together around great food and expertly crafted cocktails. With a focus on sustainability and creativity, the project was executed on a modest budget, utilizing salvaged materials to infuse the space with character and charm.
The design team transformed the space into a fun, industrial, and modern bar and restaurant. Every element was custom-designed and built, resulting in a unique environment that resonates with the eclectic spirit of the Temescal community. Exposed wood beams, reclaimed wood, and industrial metal elements combine to create a warm, inviting atmosphere that is both stylish and approachable.
Grange Hall is more than just a place to eat and drink; it’s a community hub where people come together to enjoy good company and conversation. This project is a testament to how thoughtful design and the creative use of materials can turn even a low-budget project into a distinctive and beloved neighborhood spot.
